Teens(14-17 year olds)
I have worked with teens on a volunteer basis and in community based mental health for almost a decade. I don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager or legal guardian of a teenager in 2022, but I imagine it isn’t always sunshine & sparkles. Adolescence can be a scary, exciting, confusing, & stressful time. Whether you are a guardian or a teen, I want to remind you that you are doing your best and it is okay if you are needing or wanting additional support.
*I do not provide legal or court related services (i.e. parental evaluations, reunification services, etc.) but I am more than happy to provide you with referrals and resources.
Dear teens,
Sometimes it can be difficult to share things with your parents, guardians, even your friends. Maybe you are feeling sad, angry, worried, or stressed and are not sure what to do with these emotions. Maybe you would like a neutral space to talk about friendships, relationships, or family. Maybe you are experiencing a loss, a big change, or a significant transition and would like some extra care. Maybe you are feeling anxious, experiencing bullying, or feeling alone and want a safe space where you can let your guard down. Whatever the situation might be, I would be honored to be a part of your support system & provide a space that’s just for you.
Dear caregivers/guardians,
My job as your child’s therapist is to walk alongside you and provide your child with the best possible care & support. I will not tell you how to parent and will not judge your parenting (again, we are all doing our best!). However, I am more than happy to collaborate with you if you have questions regarding how to navigate conversations or address concerns with your child. I can provide you with resources to help you take care of yourself as you tend to your child. If appropriate, I can help facilitate dialogue between you and your child in a safe space. Whatever might arise in my work with your child, I would be honored to partner with you on this journey.
