Young Adults

The young adult community holds a special place in my heart. Young adulthood can be an exciting and liberating time. And sometimes it can feel like we are racing against the societal clock that continually reminds us we’re behind in one way or another.
There are so many internal and external pressures that can feel heavy, confusing, and stressful. There can be a pressure to go to college, declare a major, and somehow find time to have a social life. There may be expectations for you to get a “grown up” job, find a nice partner, buy a house, have some kids. You may believe you need to accomplish everything under the sun before 30 or there may be a feeling of comparison surrounding others who have “accomplished” more or less than you. Your values may begin to differ from those of your family. Your friendships may be evolving and changing...how come no one prepared us for the reality of maintaining adult friendships? You and your partner may begin planning a future together or you may find you want different things and contemplate parting ways. You may experience grief surrounding how things used to be and hopefulness for what’s to come.
I would be honored to help you navigate the transitional space between adolescence and older adulthood. I am happy to normalize and validate the nuanced experiences of post-high school, college, quarter life crisis, and beyond. You are not alone in trying to figure all of this out. And a friendly reminder, we are all doing the best we can.
